Princess (Dr.) Vicky Ayodele Haastrup, a highly respected and globally acclaimed shipping Magnate and maritime CEO, educationist and advocate for women and the downtrodden
A woman with the rare combination of beauty brains and God Loving, Princess Vicky Haastrup is the Chairman, Seaport Terminal Operators Association of Nigeria (STOAN), and Co-founder of one of Nigeria’s largest port terminal operating company, ENL Consortium, where she serves as Executive Vice Chairman/CEO and also serves as the President of the Certified Institute of Shipping of Nigeria (CISN) and as a Trustee of some professional maritime women groups including the Women in Logistics and Transport (WILAT).
No doubt,when mention Is being made of her, not much will be Heard of her Grass to Grace story... rather much attention has been on her life in maritime where her numerous success has led her to enjoy global accolades for being bestowed with several awards including the Maritime Woman of the Year Award for many years running. Just recently the Women n media again decorated her with award of pride in womanhood & excellence in maritime world, the organisers praised her for her intellectualism, hard work, philanthropy and support for women and the downtrodden, Princess Vicky Haastrup certainly stands out among women.
But RichList Magazine can reveal today that it has not been a bed of roses for her, infact she was once a hawker of goods on the street while growing up.
Though her parents were from royal families, but it was part of our upbringing in those days to be hardworking.
She hawked joyfully and that was what made her the woman she is today.

Yes.. it is part of my story and it gave me a huge Sense of responsibility and hard work which are part of my life. Who I am today is as a result of what I was as a child and that is my testimony. The foundation of my life was based on hard work and it has strengthened me. Women should start with the little they have and grow with it. Do something to provide for their families and allow your children to go to school.
" For young ladies and youths today, don't be ashame to trade or hawk goods, there is dignity in labor and work for your money is better than begging everyday" was her frank affirmation.

Princess (Dr.) Vicky Haastrup holds a bachelor degree in Business Management from the renowned Holborn College, London, now known as Kaplan Holborn College.She was at different times at the London Business School, London Corporate Training Centre and Pitman Central College, London where she attended professional courses and trainings.In 1984 she joined the Nigerian Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) as Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Petroleum and Energy Resources of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Princess (Dr.) Vicky Haastrup has extensive experience in oil and gas industry/sector management and administration. She demonstrated tremendous capacity and capabilities in a wide range of oil, gas, energy and utilities issues, including transactional/contract negotiation, construction, joint ventures, projects and corporate secretariat administration and management, product sales and supply.She has extensive experience in the secretarial management and administration of large oil and gas processing, pipeline, transportation, trading, corporate business as well as energy projects.
As Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Petroleum and Energy Resources of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, she acquired an extensive international experience and provided in-depth administrative and managerial expertise to the Nigerian Petroleum Corporation and the Honourable Minister of Petroleum and Energy Resources.Princess (Dr.) Vicky Haastrup served the Nigerian Petroleum Corporation and Ministry of Petroleum and Energy Resources of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for twenty (23) unbroken years.
She retired from the Nigerian Petroleum Corporation in the year 2006 and ventured into private business in the Nigerian maritime sector where shebecame the brain behind the huge and resounding successes of one of the leading maritime companies in the West African hub.She is currently serving as the Executive Vice Chairman, ENL Consortium Limited. ENL Consortium Limited is the entity that oversees the operational activities of Terminals C&D of the Lagos Port Complex, Apapa, Lagos, Nigeria.
Under the leadership of Princess (Dr.) Vicky Haastrup, Terminals C&D of the Apapa Port has become one of the most efficient port terminals in Nigeria in the area of the discharge of bulk-laden ships which service ENL Consortium Limited has been carrying out with ease and remarkable efficiency.
Princess (Dr.) Vicky Haastrup’s laudable achievements and leadership qualities were recognized by fellow concessionaires when she was appointed as the Chairman of Seaport Terminal Operators Association of Nigeria (STOAN).Princess (Dr.) Vicky Haastrup is a fellow of the Certified Institute of Shipping and Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, (FCILT, FCIS), Member of the Institute of Directors Nigeria (IOD). As recognition of her contributions to the economic and social development of Nigeria, she was honoured with the award of a doctorate degree in Business Administration (DBA), (Honoris Causa) of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho, Oyo State, Nigeria.Princess (Dr.) Vicky Haastrup’s commendable achievements in her career had won her meritorious awards from various local and international institutions. In the year 2006, she was named the Maritime Woman of The Year by Pathways Africa.
In the year 2008, she was awarded The Excellence Humanitarian Service Award of the International Association of Lions Clubs, Okota, Lagos, Nigeria.In May 2010, she was awarded the Award of Excellence by WISTA (Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association), Woman of valor award by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the National Centre for women Development. In the year 2015, she was awarded The Seatrade Maritime Award (Middle East and Subcontinent) in the United Arab Emirate (UAE) and also the Global Role Model to All Women Award In 2019, Congregational Commendation Award from the Georgia Senate, By African Leadership Magazine In 2022, Most Outstanding Woman in Maritime by THE OMIS AWARDS.
A family woman, Princess (Dr.) Vicky Haastrup, married to the former Deputy Governor, Osun State, Chief Adesuyi Haastrup, she was born in Ijara-isin Local Government Area, Kwara State.
